Thousands of miles away from home, we all long for something familiar—the taste, the comfort, the feeling of belonging.

When my parents moved to the United States from the Philippines, I wanted to give them something meaningful—something that would make them feel at home, even so far away. So I started small… cooking, catering, and sharing the food we grew up with.

What began as a simple way to keep them busy and connected to their roots slowly turned into something more. Because the truth is—they’ve always been incredible cooks. The kind of cooking that brings people together, that tells a story, that makes you feel at home with just one bite.

One order turned into many. Small catering turned into big events. And before we knew it, that little idea grew into Pinoy Plates by Cabalen—a food truck built on family, tradition, and love.
